laundry and nursing…

I started this blog as a way to keep in touch with friends and family that I don’t see often– especially now that we’ve moved away from Chicago.ย  But secretly, I have dreams of turning it into a much more interesting family/lifestyle blog.ย  There are so many great blogs out there that do a good job of talking about their children/family, but also covering other topics that are interesting to non-relatives as well.

Some of my favorites are…

A Cup of Jo

Jen Loves Kev

ohdeardrea

rockstar diaries

… and there are many more.

Someday when Lincoln is slightly older and napping on a more consistent basis, I promise more interesting posts.ย  Currently, I’m not capable of much more than doing loads and loads of laundry and feeding baby boy ๐Ÿ™‚

Truly the most exciting thing to happen recently is my discovery of a nursing bra that I love and is only $16.99 from Target!ย  Thrilling stuff, right? ๐Ÿ˜‰

apparently I’m not the only one that loves this new bra… it is sold out online

In other news, as I mentioned before, it seems that since Lincoln learned how to roll over, his nighttime sleep has been quite different.ย  Last night was night number 3 of waking up EVERY hour, literally…8:45pm, 9:45pm, 10:45pm, 11:45pm… you get the idea ๐Ÿ™‚ย  It’s been pretty brutal. I am hoping that this is just a growth spurt or reaction to his new rolling over skills and that it will pass soon, because I am exhausted!

at least one of us is wide awake every day…

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday to one of my oldest friends Victoria!

…not oldest as in her age, but oldest as in we’ve known each other for 15+ years, since high school… just to clarify ๐Ÿ™‚

She runs this lovely blog called Frankfully which is full of wonderful, inspiring and informative DIY home projects, sewing, crafting and much more.

Hope you have a very good day ๐Ÿ™‚

I think this is from NYE 2007… Miss you!!

three months!

And another month has gone by…

We don’t have a ‘well baby’ visit this month, so my measurements are all approximate…ย  I’m going to ‘Mommy and Me’ again tomorrow and they are going to have a scale to weigh baby boy on.ย  I’ll update with his weight then…

Weight — tbd per the scale at Mommy & Me… 14lb.

Length — 25 3/4 inches

Head Circumference — 41 1/2 centimeters

Lincoln is definitely a growing boy!

three months!

Dad was there while I took these photos… Lincoln was delighted

I had some trouble keeping this kid on his back… now that he can roll over, it’s all he wants to do!

happy three months!

a to z

I have a fun new piece of decoration hanging in Lincoln’s room that I have to share…

One of my best friends Victoria, who is super crafty and amazing, made Lincoln some alphabet bunting and we hung it in the nursery today.

so when I say “we” hung it, I suppose I should actually say husband did the hanging ๐Ÿ™‚

and here it is up on the wall… how adorable is it?!

hanging above the changing table/dresser… what a perfect addition to the room!

Thank you Victoria!ย  We love it ๐Ÿ™‚

milestones…

There is a lot of talk in baby books about various milestones… smiling, sitting up, crawling, etc.

Well, yesterday Lincoln achieved a new “milestone” … He rolled over, from his back to stomach!ย  Babies usually roll stomach to back first; it’s a bit easier… but apparently Lincoln wanted to go the more difficult route first ๐Ÿ™‚

Of course I missed the first time he actually did it… I laid Lincoln down on his back in the cosleeper while I was in our bathroom brushing my teeth.ย  I finished brushing, went back into the bedroom, and there he was on his stomach, head held high, smiling at me!ย  I thought maybe it was just a fluke, but he has done it many times since.

Now if only he would get back to his ‘normal’ sleep routines… He was doing some good stretches at night… at least 3-4 hours and even went 6 hours a handful of times!ย  However, the past two nights he has literally been up every hour or hour and a half.ย  It’s been awesome ๐Ÿ˜‰

Luckily for Lincoln, he is really darn cute, so I forget about all of those sleepy middle of the night feedings pretty quickly…

I was obsessed with his outfit this day…

getting so big!

mommy and me time…

I haven’t really made any friends since we moved out to Spokane… Now that I have little Lincoln, I’m hoping that I’ll be able to meet some other moms and maybe make some friends that way.

I finally made it to the ‘Mommy and Me’ group at the hospital where I had Lincoln.ย  It was good to get out of the house and interact with some adults ๐Ÿ™‚ย  There were also a lot of cute babies, including a set of triplets!ย  Hopefully I’ll make some mommy friends and Lincoln can have some infant buddies too!

Today Lincoln spent most of the class on my lap, watching some of the older babies who can sit on their own playing together.ย  He was pretty mesmerized… and apparently all of the exciting observations wore him out.ย  He stayed asleep in his car seat for about 20 minutes after we got home, which for Lincoln is unprecedented.

please note the drool bubbles… he has become a drooling machine in the last few weeks!

a family weekend…

My brother and sister-in-law and their two boys came to visit.ย  Here’s our weekend in photos…

we started off the weekend at a street festival in Coeur d’Alene…

Lincoln and his cousins

the kids had a great time… playing on a huge inflatable slide…

doing some rock wall climbing…

And playing in these crazy inflatable balls in a pool…

Lincoln also enjoyed the day out and about with his cousins and aunt & uncle…

the next day we were off to a water park… Lincoln continued to sport his floppy sun hat…

the water park was huge and the kids were very excited…

first was a log ride…

… and the kids got a little wet

But then it was into the water… here are the boys trying to decide where to start!

Everyone had a very fun weekend…

And before they left, husband and I got a quick family picture with Lincoln…
