Oh, hello there! So, the blog was unintentionally on a 3 month hiatus. Nothing big and crazy has been happening here… I guess I just fell out of the habit of posting.
I’ve continued to share pictures and snippets of our life on Instagram. It’s just so easy to snap a quick photo, write a few sentences and post. But, I’ve been wanting to get back to writing here, maybe sharing some recipes and goodies I’ve been cooking up in the kitchen and more on our adventures around Los Angeles.
Over the weekend we went to the pumpkin patch. It was fun being back again. The pumpkin patch was one of our first excursions when we arrived here last fall.
I didn’t take nearly as many pictures as I did last time, but here are a few.
(side note: I mentioned last year that there was a paparazzi pen at this pumpkin patch- apparently it’s where all the celebs go. Today, I stumbled upon this article- Only in L.A. Sadly, we did not spot J.Lo, Jessica Alba or any other noteworthy celebrities during our visit- although to be honest, I was too busy chasing around a 2 year old to do much people watching 😉 )
This was Lincoln’s face after waiting for about 30 minutes for a pony ride…
At last! A ride on Tucker the pony.
Lincoln & Dad
And after the pumpkin patch, Lincoln ran around in a nearby park
I love my iPhone. Really.
But, the problem is that because it’s so handy and has a pretty good camera on it, I find myself taking far more pictures with my phone- instead of my really good actual camera. And, it’s so easy to just share those quick cell phone pictures on Instagram… I forget I might want to have pictures that I can actually print out and frame.
I am trying to get back into the habit of using my “real” camera and I want to practice taking better pictures with it.
So, anyhow, here are some pictures from a few of our recent weekend adventures… (almost) all of which were taken on my actual camera 🙂
Checking out the LA Fire Department Museum…
Loves driving vehicles…
We saw some very old trains at Travel Town in Griffith Park…
I don’t think he ever stopped moving that day… Too much train excitement!
Got a free balloon from some kids who were shooting a commercial in the park (We are so in LA…)
Another day we checked out the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium…
After living here for about a year and a half, I feel like I know my way around Spokane pretty well. However, I am still stumbling upon and discovering new parks with Lincoln. There seem to be a lot of parks here, which is really great.
Here’s a little video I took of Lincoln last week…
(I promise he did not go head first down the slide after I stopped recording)
I am so excited that Lincoln is walking and will be able to go to the park and playground this summer and actually run around and have fun!
It hasn’t been too warm yet (a few nice days here and there, but nothing consistent), but I’ve ventured out with Lincoln a few times now and he LOVES sitting in the grass, feeling the wind and of course, eating dirt, bark, sticks, leaves, etc….
please note dirt near his mouth… he literally ate a handful that day…
first time on the swings!
he was mesmerized by some high school kids playing lacrosse nearby…
Here’s hoping for some warm, sunny days in the near future!
